Hello, I’m Ashley!
Well, first of all, I am so glad you’re here! What an honor it is to get to be apart of your healing journey! I couldn’t be more excited that you are on this path, and maybe, just maybe, I will get to witness some of the magic that will take place!
A bit about me:
I am a lover of all things nature, people, and adventure! I’m a believer in the healing power of the body, and I have always loved finding new ways that the body and mind work together to release tension and unwind old patterns of pain and discomfort. I started TheraMana Bodywork as a way to share what I’ve learned with others.
As an Oregon native, I am fascinated and in awe of the vast nature that makes up the state. I have spent countless nights backpacking all over the Pacific Northwest, sleeping under the stars, dreaming of what mountain, river, or lake I might find the next day. Being outside is my happy place!
Although an Oregonian by birth, I spent the most formative years of my childhood in a coastal village in a rainforest in Senegal, West Africa. It was there that I first learned about the healing power that the earth and its inhabitants may possess. Whether it was the medicine women in our village, the abundance of tropical plants and fruit, the intense storms, the ancient trees, or simply the earth beneath my feet, I felt connected to Nature in a meaningful way that has impacted the way I view medicine, and the healing power in nature and in myself.
After moving back to Oregon, and graduating from high school, I decided to hop on a plane and move to Hawaii to attend a small private college on the island of Maui. There, I studied theology but found God in nature much more than in my textbooks. Hawaii is where I began the deep inner healing that I needed, and also where I grew to understand the importance of the mind-body connection.
Fast forward over 10 years. I was dealing with immense grief, chronic back pain, and systemic inflammation, which led to an emergency back surgery, which was not my plan at all! On top of this life-changing event, I was very unhappy with the career path I was on. Those two things (along with other big life changes) were the catalysts I needed to pursue healing in a new way. I not only began to heal my own body through bodywork and mind-body connection practices, I made a leap of faith and went back to school to learn how to help others who were also in pain. I attended Sage School of Massage and Esthetics in Bend, OR, and have been practicing here in Bend ever since. While I was in school I received an exceptional education about how to help others heal, and at the same time, I discovered new layers of healing my own body.
The most beautiful thing happened… as I healed myself, I became a healer.
I am passionate about helping people get out of chronic pain, find balance, feel completely held in unconditional love, and reconnect to themselves and their body’s healing ability. I specialize in therapeutic deep tissue, manual lymphatic drainage, and relaxation. My style is slow and intuitive and I love to learn from my clients and offer education when needed. I love to partner with clients to help bring balance, get them feeling like themselves again, and/or heal from chronic or acute pain.
It has been my life’s greatest work and joy to have this career. It is truly an honor to get to partner with you on your unique healing journey and I can’t wait to meet you!
